Expanding the 45-Trail

Our neighbors in Meridian are asking for your help!  They are campaigning for expanding the existing paved path along Hwy 45 from Escarpment (where is now ends) to their entrance.  The City of Austin has already received a pitch from their HOA and have included this project on their latest poll.  Please take a few minutes to click on the link below (submitting your personal information is optional), then click on “challenges and gaps” on the far left and adjust the map to our location.  On Hwy 45 near 1826 you will find several red icons to click on and “agree” that you would like to see this project come to fruition.  Meridian appreciates your support!

Where Could We Make Walking, Biking and Rolling Easier for You?
The input map is available now through March 6, 2022.  All public input received through the map will be evaluated to update the City of Austin’s plans for urban trails, bikeways, and sidewalks – including improved street crossing.

What is the mapping tool?

This interactive planning tool allows you to show us exactly where you’d like to see improvements to Austin’s sidewalks, urban trails, and bikeways.  Select the red icons to mark places where you experience challenges walking or rolling.

What is ATX Walk Bike Roll?
AYX Walk Bike Roll is a project to update the City of Austin’s Urban Trails, Bikeway, and Sidewalk Plans.  The updated plans will influence where and how you walk, bike, and roll in Austin.  Equity and inclusion are at the center of ATX Walk Bike Roll.  We’re working to improve how you move through Austin, while also addressing the unique transportation challenges that people of color, lower-income people, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups face.  Together, we can create a healthier city with more ways for residents to get wherever they need to go.
